Dr. Lisa Turner: Your Achievement Coach What I do: I offer teleclasses and one on one coaching for people who want to take their lives to the next level of confidence and happiness while developing a personal mission, or roadmap. I help people discover, define, and articulate their goals and dreams and put a step by step plan together to achieve them.
Examples: A successful executive or manager who has been laid off begins a profitable new business utilizing their unique talents and passions A person who has always wanted to learn to fly becomes a pilot A successful manager overwhelmed with work finds work/life balance and more time for self development, relationships, and recreation A person wanting to change their career assembles the self marketing materials and finds exactly what they are looking for. These people are executives, managers, self employed business people, emerging authors, engineers, hobbyists, pilots, community volunteers, bankers, attorneys, and administrative assistants, and other life coaches, to name a few.
How I do it: The one on one coaching is a powerful and individual process for achieving what I teach in the teleclasses. The teleclasses are based upon a unique and proprietary formula for achievement called ?Your Achievement Formula?. This formula:
Leave the coaching or the class with a plan and the confidence to execute it!
Questions and Answers about Coaching and Teleclasses QUESTION: So why should I consider coaching or learning the Achievement Formula when everything is ok now in my life? ANSWER: Is everything really "ok"? Consider that less than 3% of the population has written goals. Think about your next vacation road trip. Do you get on just any road to get there? No, you figure out the most scenic way, or the fastest way, and you might use a map so you don?t make any wrong turns. Most people in life are driving down the road without a destination. Why not DECIDE where you want to go and go there? Most people say, How? Well, that is why we have the formula for getting there along with someone to help lead the way!
QUESTION: I've tried reading all the self help books without success. Why is your program different? QUESTION: There are a lot of life and achievement coaches out in the marketplace already. What makes you different from them? ANSWER: My coaching and my classes are different in many respects, and, at times, a little unconventional. I have based my methods on testing what works and what doesn't work. Along with 20 years of employee relations and corporate management experience, I am trained in Six Sigma problem solving methods that have saved large companies literally billions of dollars. Why not apply these teachings to our personal lives? Second, I bring a point of view to life enrichment that is somewhat unconventional but works such as combining an engineer's logic with the emotional intensity of The Secret, or the Law of Attraction, to generate achievement. Listen to my interview on The Myths of Goal Setting on the Resources Page. QUESTION: This sounds exciting. Can I afford it? ANSWER: The question should be, can you afford not to have the happiest possible life from here on in? We typically spend in excess of $30K a year for 4 years educating college students in life skills . . . what if six months of coaching could give you the tools to live a much happier and abundant life right now? Would you spend less than 3% of the cost of a college education on that? QUESTION: I see what you are saying. I had not thought of it that way. So is everyone “coachable”? ANSWER: No. Not everyone is coachable. There are many people who simply will not be coached, because they believe they already have the keys to living a full, happy life. And that is fine. These people do not call me, even though they could have even fuller lives than the ones they are experiencing now. And then there are people who do think they are coachable; but they are not coachable, and I cannot accept them as clients. QUESTION: Who is uncoachable? ANSWER: A person who is fundamentally uncoachable believes that they cannot learn anything new. They enter into the coaching relationship denying that it can do anything positive for them. But, they say, they will try it anyway. Even though it won’t provide any change or benefit. A person who is uncoachable does not show up on time for appointments or complete assignments – a complete disrespect of the coaching relationship. A person who is uncoachable blames the rest of the world for their life situation that they want you to wave a wand over. And a person who is uncoachable is not able to take responsibility for where they are now and decide to move forward. QUESTION: So, will you, or do you, coach an uncoachable client? ANSWER: No. If I reject a client, it means that both of us will be wasting our time and money talking about important life matters that will not be taken seriously. I want to see positive results in a client’s life. QUESTION: How do you determine, when people come to you for coaching, who is coachable and who is not? ANSWER: I ask them to complete a simple self assessment. If the score falls below a certain value, I reject the client, explaining my rationale. QUESTION: Can I see a copy of this questionnaire? ANSWER: Yes. Click here: Are You Coachable? QUESTION: Have you rejected an uncoachable person who offered you a lot of money? ANSWER: Yes. QUESTION: Why? ANSWER: It would have been unethical to take on a client that would not benefit from the relationship. In coaching, as in many other professions – integrity, trust, and ethics are at the core of the process.
